The statistics above represents the latest findings on poverty in Israel
provided by the National Insurance Institute (NII) of Israel.
Poverty
and
Social Gaps in 2010, November 2011
- Almost 25% or 1 in 4 Israelis live below the poverty line. That accounts for 1,773,400 people.
- Israel has a larger percentage of poor when
compared to countries that we commonly consider 3rd world, such as Mexico
and Turkey.
- 35.3% of Israeli children live below the poverty line, accounting for 837,300 people.
- 433,300 of families are
living below the poverty line. That is a staggering 19.8% of all families.
These poverty statistics have a one year delay.
